I think Salming was the best Leaf I have ever seen. He couldn't fight to save his life but no one could intimidate him, he was one of the toughest players I have ever seen. I remember him body checking Moose Dupont. Dupont threw off the gloves and beat Salming up so badly and even though Salming didn't throw a punch he received the same five minute penalty as Dupont. When they got out of the box Dupont had the puck and Salming went right back at him and hit him. Robinson may have been a better player but he was no where close to Salming in toughness or grit.
